Eli B We seriously need to start questioning why movie studios always want to completely change the plots of classic books for movie adaptations, because this was a massacre. Every meaningful moment of the book was completely removed in the film - which is strange, because the book was a goldmine of thought-provoking scenes and every interaction had a purpose. It features two strong leads in Michael B. Jordan and Michael Shannon, the visuals are powerful and the message is needed now more than ever. Unfortunately, the story is underdeveloped, which I think is due to the large stray from the source material.As someone who read the book years ago, I was surprised by the extent of creative license that the filmmakers took. I’m not saying that writers and directors should not change items from books when adapting them to film. Jordan, Michael Shannon, Sofia Boutella, and the rest of the cast did a terrible job in this movie. The plot of the movie was tedious, bizarre, and insane. It's about a future where innocent pleasures are outlawed because they think it could lead to chaos. If you haven't seen this movie yet, don't waste your time. It's not worth it.
